Whanganui Airport

Airport Security

2016header 03

Whanganui Airport is not a security designated airport, however, security is a prime focus with compliance of CAA requirements being satisfied at all times.

The New Zealand Police visit frequently to cover departing flights and staff remain continually mindful of security requirements.

The Airport Operations and Emergency Planning Manuals provide approved guidance for actions to be taken in the event of an untoward incident.

The airport terminal facility is electronically monitored and access to other areas is restricted and controlled. The perimeter of the airport is fenced and regularly patrolled.

To minimise the possibility of an untoward security event occuring visiting aircrew are requested to maintain recognised and professional  security practices when operating through Whanganui Airport.
